Dallas Center-Grimes High School Participates in ICSS

On October 2, 2017, the Dallas Center-Grimes (DCG) High School Rho Kappa Chapter in Grimes, Iowa, participated in the Iowa Council for the Social Studies Annual Conference at Altoona, Iowa. The Rho Kappa students volunteered and served as room hosts. Their responsibilities included providing assistance to speakers, keeping records of attendees and assisting guests. In addition, the students had the opportunity to learn about social studies education and spend time discussing historical and current events with Mary Beth Tinker, best known for the Tinker v. Des Moines Supreme Court case. The DCG students took part in this activity to provide service to social studies educators and education in our state. It provided an opportunity to learn about social studies opportunities as well.
