CONNECTED is now NCSS Commons
Over the last few months, we have been optimizing the NCSS membership messaging platform to better fit the needs of our members, Special Interest Communities and Associated Groups. CONNECTED is now NCSS Commons, powered by Breezio. We created the Commons to be a new and engaging way to connect with your social studies colleagues and share important member-generated news and updates.
Whether you've been a casual user or daily user of Connected, we are excited for you to see how our new platform can help you to cultivate community with others here at your professional home, to advocate for social studies with an authoritative voice, and to innovate for tomorrow.

Q. When I try to log in to the Commons, the page just refreshes.
A. Click the NCSS Commons logo in the top left hand corner of the page. Then, click log in, and try again!
Q. How do I join a Special Interest Community?
A. Once logged into NCSS Commons, click "Groups" at the top of the page to browse all available communities. Click the Community name, and then the +JOIN button under that name to join and start a discussion.
Q. What are Special Interest Communities?
A. NCSS special interest communities are groups focused on specific topics, causes or interests relating to social studies. Joining a community is an easy way for NCSS members to share resources, ask questions, and promote collaboration opportunities based around a certain subject.
Q. How do I change my Commons notifications?
A. You can easily control how often you receive email notifications from NCSS Commons through your account settings.
1. Once logged in to the commons, click your profile icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen,
2. Select "Account Settings"
3. Select "Manage Notifications"
4. Set your digest to your preferred schedule, or turn email notifications to "Off", and click"Save". This will not affect your normal NCSS emails, just the emails from this platform.
