Presidential Resources for Teachers (Miller Center, UVA)

The Miller Center offers a free, teacher- and student-friendly collection that's about all of the U.S. presidents and key public issues of each period. "Each president's page includes carefully crafted essays by experts, quick facts, presidential speeches, interviews with scholars, relevant publications, and more."

Students can read detailed content about the presidents' lives before they came into office, their campaigns, the domestic and foreign issues they faced during their administrations, and their lasting legacy on American history. For example, here is a video about a current controversial issue: the 12-minute video "Race And The Crisis of Justice" looks at the history of race, policing, and incarceration in the United States through the lens of the presidency. https://vimeo.com/215846466.
