Featuring:

India Meissel, President of NCSS, teaches in the History Department of Lakeland High School in Suffolk, Virginia, where she serves as the Department Chairperson and Lead Teacher for U.S. History. She has taught students at all levels from the virtual to inclusion, to Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment, during her 30-year career. In addition, India has served as an Adjunct Professor of History at Paul D. Camp Community College on both the Suffolk and Smithfield campuses for the past 20 years. 

Michelle Pledger, C​o-Director of the Share Your Learning Campaign Project, is also the Co-Director of the Deeper Learning Hub, a national practitioner hub whose mission is to spread deeper learning practices and ensure that more students across the country are achieving deeper learning outcomes. Her work with the Share Your Learning Campaign aims to spread student-centered practices (exhibitions, student led conferences, and presentations of learning) to 5 million students by 2020. ​Michelle is a faculty member at High Tech High Graduate School of Education, where she works for Center for Research on Equity and Innovation, as Coordinator of High Tech High submissions to Education Week’s Learning Deeply blog, and as a co-planner and facilitator of the annual Equity Deep Dive.
