The Nebraska State Council for the Social Studies will hold the annual state conference at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Several pre-conference workshops will be held on June 6, including “Teaching the Arab-Israeli Conflict and Peace Process” and “Population Connection.”  The main conference is on June 7 and features Joel Breakstone, Ph.D. of the Stanford History Education Group (SHEG) as keynote. Breakstone will speak on “Media Literacy Across the Curriculum."  In addition, he will be presenting two breakout sessions featuring materials from the SHEG repertory of OER lessons.
