The National Council for the Social Studies is excited to present the second annual Virtual Summer Conference on Monday-Tuesday, June 24-25. This year’s conference is designed especially for elementary teachers. Join us virtually as we explore, Inquire and Inspire: Cross-Disciplinary Learning in Elementary Classrooms.

Elementary teachers will leave this conference ready to:

  • Strategically plan instruction to support cross-disciplinary learning that is grounded in social studies, but also integrates literacy, mathematics, science, and/or the arts;
  • Find time in your already packed school day for authentic social studies instruction;
  • Focus on the social studies strategies and tools that will help students engage in true inquiry;
  • Sharpen your content knowledge of and best practices to teach elementary students about diverse narratives and experiences in United States history and other common elementary social studies topics; and
  • Network with other elementary teachers from around the country and learn how you can advocate for social studies instruction, find FREE resources for your classrooms, and how you can participate in a variety of social studies opportunities specifically designed to meet your needs to grow as a professional.
