NCSS conference volunteers receive a one-for-one match of their volunteer time to attend the conference at no charge. This is an economical way to participate in the conference, and provide some much-needed help for its success. If you volunteer for a full day, you can attend the conference for no charge for a full day. Volunteer for half a day (four hours) and you can attend the other half at no charge.
If you want to attend more of the conference beyone your one-for-one match, you can register at a special discounted rate for that time.
Provide assistance at NCSS registration. Functions include stuffing and distributing attendee tote bags, checking in exhibit personnel, greeting and providing assistance to attendees as they wait in line, and other duties as needed. The greatest need for registration volunteers is all day Thursday and Friday.
Help stuff attendee tote bags with name badge holders, Conference Programs, and exhibit flyers. This work will be on Tuesday afternoon, November 14, at Moscone West.
Attend sessions and provide reports to NCSS on the number of attendees, quality of presentation, and any highlights or issues. Facilitators also provide assistance for presenters, if needed. Facilitators are usually assigned 4-5 meeting rooms per session hour on which to report.
Bookstore (Bulletin giveaway)
Collect coupons from attendees for their free NCSS Bulletin in giveaway area just outside the NCSS bookstore. Restock bulletins, as needed. The greatest need for bookstore assistance is during bookstore hours on Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and all day Saturday.
To sign up to volunteer, complete the online registration form. We will contact you with any questions, and with your assignment.
