Syd Golston: Experiences and Visions of an NCSS President

The Archives Committee welcomes all conference attendees to their annual Past President interview. Special guest Syd Golston will discuss: 1.) her visions and goals as an incoming NCSS officer; 2.) significant issues and decisions made during her tenure; and 3.) her visions for the future of NCSS. This session will allow conference attendees the opportunity to observe and be a part of this important process. By attending this session, participants will experience: 1.) the role of the NCSS Archives Committee; 2.) mechanics of conducting an oral history interview; 3.) visions, experiences and policies of an NCSS Past President; and 4.) Golston's vision of social studies education and how NCSS can achieve that vision.
