About Denver
Denver combines 300 days of sunshine, a thriving art and cultural scene, diverse neighborhoods, and the Rocky Mountain backdrop to create the world’s most spectacular playground. Denver’s walkable downtown includes the nation’s second-largest performing arts complex, two new art museums, three sports stadiums, a history museum, a U.S. Mint, a river offering whitewater rafting, a world-class aquarium, the Colorado State Capitol, a new light rail system, and more than 300 restaurants, all within a one-mile radius of the Colorado Convention Center, site of the 90th NCSS Annual Conference.
Much of Denver’s rich Western history has been preserved in its architecture, in the neighborhoods of Larimer Square and LoDo, and in museums such as the Denver Art Museum, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Denver Public Library, and Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave.
Special events happening during the conference include “Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs” at the Denver Art Museum and Denver Arts Week, a week-long celebration of Denver’s thriving arts scene, with special events, concerts, art shows, theatre, dance, street parties and prizes.
