NCSS Awards & Grants: Deadline to Apply and Nominate is May 15th!

Do you know of an excellent social studies educator, program, or dissertation that deserves recognition? NCSS is accepting nominations and applications for the following 2017 awards and grants. Awardees will be recognized at the NCSS Annual Conference, which will be held in San Francisco, November 16-19, 2017. Read more and submit an application at www.socialstudies.org/getinvolved/awards. Deadline for Application / Nomination is May 15, 2017.

Outstanding Social Studies Teacher of the Year
3 Awards- elementary, middle level, and secondary
$2,500 cash prize
Up to $500 in 2017 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses
2017 Teacher of the Year Annual Conference Panel presentation
Complimentary 1-year NCSS membership

Grant for the Enhancement of Geographic Literacy
$2,500 Grant
Project/grant outcomes presentation (a session at the 2018 NCSS Annual Conference, or a webinar/webcast)
Up to $800 in 2018 Annual Conference travel expenses

Award for Global Understanding Given in Honor of James M. Becker
$2,000 Cash prize
Up to $700 in 2017 NCSS Annual Conference travel expenses

FASSE Christa McAuliffe Reach for the Stars Award
