Rebecca Bush is the K-12 Social Studies Instructional Specialist at Muskegon Public Schools and is an adjunct faculty member at Grand Valley State University where she teaches social studies methods courses. For the past twenty years she has collaborated with social studies leaders K-16 in various statewide social studies initiatives reflecting Michigan’s commitment to a solid framework for standards-based instruction and assessment alignment. She currently works with Dr. Florian Feucht of Thinking Habitats assisting with the implementation of a local, news-based curriculum to promote civic engagement and teach critical thinking, reading, and news literacy. She has served on the National Social Studies Supervisor’s Association for six years, once as president of the organization, and has served on the MCSS Board of Directors for the past ten years serving as president twice.
