The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) hosts a Summer Teacher Institute for educators of grades 6-12 who have at least two years of classroom experience. The Institute -- held Monday, July 9 through Thursday, July 12, 2018 -- is free of charge and includes housing, breakfast, and lunch. Attendees are responsible for the cost of their travel to and from Washington, DC. The institute will inform and support teachers’ practices in bringing accurate, appropriate, and more complete understandings about American Indians to their students.
