Dunwoody High School’s Rho Kappa organized its first annual Students vs. Faculty Charity Kickball Tournament raising funds for The Georgia Innocence Project. The students initiated this activity after watching the documentary 13TH. The event was held on October 26, 2017 and started at 10:00 am with a speaker from The Georgia Innocence Project who discussed the organization’s mission and shared the challenges faced in unearthing facts to ensure justice for those wrongly accused of a crime. This conversation was opened to students and teachers from multiple disciplines.
The tournament was after school and involved 10 teams of 7 students with each team member contributing 5$ to the fundraiser. Dunwoody High School’s Rho Kappa raised $518 from student and faculty participation plus concession sales. This money was donated to further the mission of The Georgia Innocence Project.
