Global Folklorist Challenge

Global Folklorist Challenge

The third annual Global Folklorist Challenge gets students (ages 8-18) involved in learning about their own families and communities. It's co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and ePals/Cricket Media. The Challenge invites kids to interview a tradition bearer in their community, to create a short video or slide set, and to share it with the world and compete for prizes as an additional incentive. Social studies students to learn about and share information about people in their families or communities who practice a traditional skill such as cooking, crafts, or holiday celebrations.
