Do you know of an excellent social studies educator, program, or dissertation that deserves recognition? NCSS is accepting nominations and applications for the following 2017 awards and grants. Awardees will be recognized at the NCSS Annual Conference, which will be held in San Francisco, November 16-19, 2017. Read more and submit an application at www.socialstudies.org/getinvolved/awards. This Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8-12, 2017), the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is asking people to share photos, videos, gifs or stories on social media that illustrate their favorite teacher(s) or what an accomplished teacher looks like to them, using #PictureATeacher. Starting now throughout the month of May, we’d love to generate photos, videos and other types of visual content to show the world who teachers are.
