NCSS Statement on Trump Administration's Proposed $4.8M Cuts to History & Civics
The recent release of the Trump Administration’s FY2020 budget request once again proposes deep cuts to programs affecting social studies educators nationwide. Of direct concern is the proposed elimination of the U.S. Department of Education’s K-12 American History & Civics Grants and Academies, currently funded at $4.8 million. (Read more)

Speaking Up for Science and Social Studies

Duke, professor in literacy, language, and culture and also in the combined program in education and psychology at the University of Michigan, was developed at the request of the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Social Studies Collaborative.
