Peggy Jackson: A Social Studies Star for the National Teachers Hall of Fame

The National Teachers Hall of Fame will honor NCSS immediate past President Peggy Jackson. (Read her essay) As you celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11, at your place of work, you may also apply or nominate a colleague for an NCSS Teaching Award, to be presented at the 98th NCSS Annual Conference in Chicago. (ApplicationsThe annual NCSS Outstanding Teacher of the Year Awards recognize exceptional classroom social studies teachers for grades K-6, 5-8, and 7-12 who teach social studies regularly and systematically in elementary school settings, and at least half-time in middle or junior high and high school settings.
