Anthony Ray Hinton spent nearly thirty years on death row in Alabama for murders he didn't commit. With the help of Bryan Stevenson (founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative), Hinton was exonerated and finally released from prison in April 2015. His memoir, The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row, is his harrowing first-person account of his time in prison and eventual release. Mr. Hinton, who lectures frequently on prison reform, the death penalty, and the power of faith and forgiveness, lives in Alabama.
