Pacific Front, World War II: Understanding Sacrifice

In July 2017, a select group of 18 educators will follow in the footsteps of history as they visit World War II historic sites and American cemeteries in San Francisco, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Manila, The Philippines.A partnership -- National History Day, American Battle Monuments Commission, Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs -- hopes to reinvigorate the teaching of World War II in middle and high school by helping teachers understand the sacrifice of fallen American heroes of that era.
