Jamestowne to the 21st Century (Historic Jamestowne & CNU)

How can we employ the history of American representative government to help students grapple with their role as 21st century citizens?
Christopher Newport University’s Center for American Studies will sponsor a three-day workshop on American government examining how “We the People” have shaped and crafted our legislative institutions into the system we know today. Teachers will visit Historic Jamestowne in Virginia (http://historicjamestowne.org/) for onsite discussions with archaeologists and historians, working with scholars, and shaping lessons for their classroom.
The full title of the workshop is "American Representative Government: Jamestowne to the 21st Century."
Join the adventure July 27-29, 2017.
Only 20 teachers will be selected, and they will receive a stipend of $250.
Free Accommodations are available on request at CNU dormitories in Newport News, Virginia.
