Support for Civics and History Funding- Action Needed by July 18

NCSS Letter to Hawaii DOE-2011

Educators in Hawaii alerted the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) that they were considerin reducing the number of social studies credits for high school graduation from four to three credits. NCSS Supports the Teaching Geography is Fundamental Act

This is a bill that NCSS has promoted on Capitol Hill and for which NCSS has helped secure many co-sponsors. The act would ensure federal support for geography comparable to the eight other core academic subjects identified by the No Child Left Behind Act. --> read more »
