Five years ago TNTP launched the Fishman Prize as way to celebrate great teachers. Since then, the prize has recognized nearly 500 teachers who build strong relationships with their students, ignite passion for their subject matter, and push students to reach their highest aspirations.  The application for the 2017 Fishman Prize is now open. Population Education's World of 7 Billion student video contest is still accepting entries! This year's topics - Climate Change, Ocean Health, and Rapid Urbanization - encourage participants to consider the urgency of increasing cooperation and creativity in resolving the innumerable issues associated with increasing world population.  In an effort to assist contest participants, several supplemental readings are available that students may want to consider while preparing their video submissions.

Your students can explore models of ethical leadership, moral courage and humanitarian conduct by competing for the Abdelkader Global Leadership Prize. U.S. high school and college/university students, including exchange students, can enter this essay contest and win scholarship awards.

The National Center for Policy Analysis and its partner, Debate Central, have announced the 2016-2017 Young Patriots Essay Contest, sponsored by Copart. Entrants have the opportunity to showcase their writing skills and compete for $9,000 in scholarship money.
To date, the Young Patriots Essay Contest has awarded $49,000 in scholarships to students around the nation.
