2016 NCSS Election Results

Body: 

India MeisselIndia Meissel, teacher at Lakeland High School in Suffolk has been elected vice president of National Council for the Social Studies and is in line to become NCSS President 2018-2019. India served on the NCSS Board of Directors 2012-2015, and currently serves on the board of the Virginia Council for the Social Studies.

Also elected, and India on the board starting July 1, for three year terms are:

Marjorie Hunter, West Memphis High School, West Memphis, AR
Rhonda Watton, Templeton Middle School, Sussex, WI

NCSS Board Listening Sessions at the Annual Conference

Body: 

Please join the NCSS Board of Directors for its "Listening Tour" about NCSS. The board cares deeply about the voices of NCSS members and wants to intentionlly listen.   At the Listening Tour Sessions, you will have an opportunity to share your hopes and dreams for the future of National Council for the Social Studies, as well as your concerns. The board sessions are held in Exhibit Hall B, behind Classroom "A".

  • 12:00-1:00pm
  • 12:30-1:30pm
  • 1:30-2:30pm
