This year’s theme mirrors that of the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). The national conference will be held in New Orleans, LA, on November 13-15, 2015. As part of the CCRS curriculum of Alabama and in line with the C3 Framework of NCSS, the social studies provide the essential knowledge, skills, and dispositions that students need to make informed decisions about the world around them and as citizens charged with sustaining our democratic republic. How can you integrate social studies with other subjects to provide a real-world experience for students?

PCSS returns to Harrisburg to explore Conceptual Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century Social Studies Classroom. Join educators young and old from across the Commonwealth as we examine the importance of our field in a time of change for the field. The 62nd annual conference promises to be meaningful to all who care about the social studies.
