This professional development institute provides educators with a valuable opportunity to expand their knowledge and learn new methods for teaching African American students about civil rights and how they can be active, engaged members of their communities.

• Spend three days with high-caliber instructors and civil rights leaders
• Participate in interactive workshops that thoroughly examine past and current civil rights issues
• Gain access to civil rights lessons and resources from Street Law, Inc. and the National Archives

The Institute is open to high school social studies teachers from the following states: CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VA.
