Socratic seminars are authentic, teacher-led classroom discussions that promote higher level thinking, more careful reading of texts, and increased skills of classroom and civil discussion. This workshop will teach the skills associated with leading seminars using primary sources from U.S. History as our texts. Teachers from all social studies disciplines are encouraged to attend this workshop. The workshop is participatory with a focus on successful implementation in middle and high school social studies classrooms.
