Join us for a "Resolutions Discussion" webinar.
Following the Legislative Update webinar in the afternoon between 1:30-3:00 PM EDT NCSS staff members will host a webinar to discuss topics brought up during the Legislative Update that might be of interest to you within the social studies education context of your state. Please be prepared to discuss these topics and any other resolution ideas you may have.
To update yourself on the resolutions writing process please review the "Writing Effective Resolutions" PowerPoint presented during the resolutions webinar on July 1, 2010. The PowerPoint and other resolution documents can be found on the NCSS Leaders Site at: http://www.ncssleaders.org/HouseofDelegates/NCSSResolutionsHowTo [1] .
To join the webinar follow the directions below. Please note the Elluminate meeting room that we will be using to host the webinar requires Sun's Java Web Start to be installed on your computer. If you do not have Java Web Start, you will be provided with instructions on how to install it prior to joining the session. Your browser security settings may block this site from downloading files to your computer. If so, you will need to accept the download of these files. The installation process takes only a few minutes. So please take this into account and be prepared to sign in 15-20 minutes ahead of time.
How to join the Webinar:
* Click on the following link: http://www.elluminate.com/trial/p.go?pk=d3LL9PUTcfcz3eM1 [2]
* Enter your full name in the space provided and click the button that says "Meet now with Elluminate Live."
A security box will pop-up stating that the application was signed by Elluminate Inc., but that Java cannot verify the authenticity of the signature's certificate. It will then ask if you trust this certificate? Please click trust and allow "Sun's Java Web Start" to be downloaded on your computer. Once successfully downloaded you will automatically be granted access to the webinar.
Please wait to hear further instructions from NCSS.
If you know of anyone who would like to attend please send their name and email address to kpekarek@ncss.org [3] .
