1. Budget and Approriations
-The Republican victory in the race for the Senate seat of the late Senator Edward Kennedy sent shock waves throughout Capitol Hill and the White House last week. This will if it has not already made a huge impact on the White House and Congress' next steps.
-The President announced he will address the nation in his first State of the Union address this Wednesday, January 27. Education reform should be highlighted.
-More Race to the Top dollars would be requested in the FY 2011 budget, which will be sent to Capitol Hill on February 1.
