Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Funding Chart for the FY 2010 Omnibus Package

On December 10, 2009, the House of Representatives adopted an Omnibus spending plan for FY 2010. The package included a bill making appropriations for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education. The Omnibus bill was then passed by the Senate on December 13, 2009, and is awaiting the signature of the President.

Attached please find a comprehensive chart of funding totals for selected programs within the Department of Education and Department of Health and Human Services.

(It should be noted that the portion of the spending package making appropriations for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education also included language to make changes to the Innovation Fund within the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009--the program commonly referred to as the Investing in Innovation program, or "i3" program. The changes 1) widen eligibility for Innovation grants to allow more school districts to be eligible, and 2) clarify that nonprofit organizations are eligible for innovation grants, but only if they partner with school districts or consortia of schools.)
