The American Sociological Association is hosting a conference for High School Sociology teachers at its annual meeting in Las Vegas from August 19-20, 2011 . The keynote speaker is Dr. Barbara Petzen, speaking on “The Realities and Stereotypes of Teaching Minority Cultures.” The conference will include a panel on “Preparing Students for the Successful Transition to College Sociology Courses”. Roundtables involve effective lesson plans and innovative technological resources for high school. There is a special rate for high school educators – just $100.
