NCSS annually honors the outstanding performance of social studies teachers, researchers, and other worthy individuals or programs to encourage unique and innovative social studies instruction. Grant and award winners receive a commemorative gift, cash prizes (depending on the award/grant), recognition at the NCSS annual conference, a chance to present their work during a conference session, and publicity.
