Greetings from New Executive Director Larry Paska

Greetings from New Executive Director Larry Paska

Dear NCSS Community,

I'm Larry Paska, and I'm writing to formally introduce myself as the new NCSS Executive Director. I look forward to learning from you and working together in support of a quality social studies education!

As I begin work with our Board of Directors and team, I am interested in learning your thoughts and ideas about the following questions:

  1. What do you like best about NCSS?
  2. What resources and services do you most want from NCSS?
  3. How else can NCSS help you?

Please see this brief feedback form, or feel free to e-mail me anytime at lpaska@ncss.org with your responses – and with any other feedback you would like to share on how NCSS can support your work every day.

We are currently preparing for our 96th Annual Conference, “Civic Learning and Cultural Inquiry in a Changing World." Please join us from December 2-4 in Washington, DC for hundreds of opportunities to further your professional learning goals: sessions, exhibits, speakers, clinics, networking opportunities, and cultural attractions throughout our nation’s capital. I hope we have the chance to meet in person this December in DC!

Every day is a perfect opportunity to engage ourselves and our students in inquiry: asking questions about the world around us, and answering those questions to empower actions that support our communities, from “local” to “global.” Please keep in touch often. Thank you for being a part of our social studies community. With your partnership, we will continue to make the social studies come alive for every learner!

Best regards,
Larry Paska
