Education Secretary Arne Duncan to Speak

Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan will speak at the 2011 NCSS Annual Conference on Friday, December 2, at 1:30PM His keynote address will be open to all registered NCSS attendees.

Secretary Duncan adds to a strong lineup of Friday speakers. Research Professor of Education Diane Ravitch, Harlem Children's Zone President and CEO Geoffrey Canada, and a panel of specialists from the National Center for Education Statistics discussing the results of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) 2010 social studies reports all make for a vibrant exploration of education policy.

In addition, the day will feature over 200 presentations on social studies education by leading practitioners and researchers.
