NCSS Research Awards

It is the mission of National Council for the Social Studies to engage and support educators in strengthening and advocating social studies, where social studies is defined as the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence. In support of this mission, NCSS and the Research Committee sponsor three annual research awards designed to recognize substantive scholarly inquiry in social studies education.

Social Studies Teacher of the Year Awards

National Council for the Social Studies honors annually the outstanding performance of teachers, researchers, and other worthy individuals and programs, and has encouraged unique and innovative social studies education projects through its award and grant programs. The Council engages and supports educators in strengthening and advocating social studies.
