Find Your Professional Associated Group

Social studies educators have organized as formal subgroups of NCSS, such as local school district social studies supervisors, state social studies specialists, international educators, and college and university faculty members. Other groups, in partnership with NCSS, provide services and professional development opportunities to NCSS members.

NCSS Operations Committees

NCSS Operations Committees carry out board-mandated operations, duties, and policies, as well as many of the necessary business and organizational functions of NCSS. Operations committees relate their work to Board directives, the long-range plan of NCSS, and the leadership theme of the year set by the Board. They make recommendations to the board and provide advice.

Social Science Education Consortium

Founded in 1963, SSEC strives to promote and improve social science education at all levels through collaboration among social scientists and social studies educators.
