-The Senate took center stage on education funding last week. Tuesday the Appropriations Subcommittee on labor, Health and Human Services and Education met to mark-up a bill making appropriations for those agencies for FY 2010. The overall spending is $300 million less than the amount proposed in the House measure adopted last week. --> read more »

-The full house passed the FY 2010 House Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act with a vote of 264-153.
-The action now turns to the Senate where the LHHS Appropriations Subcommittee is scheduled to mark up its final FY 2010 bill on Tuesday, July 28. The full Committee then meets on the 30th if everything goes as planned. --> read more »

-The House Appropriations Committee met to approve the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education funding bill for FY 2010.
-The outcome for education was as expected: an increase in overall spending of approximately three percent.
