National Council for the Social Studies is affiliated with and supports state, local, and regional social studies councils and organizations across the United States. Find your professional community
Local school district social studies supervisors, state social studies specialists, international educators, and college and university faculty members are organized as formal subgroups of NCSS. Other groups, in partnership with NCSS, provide services and professional development opportunities to NCSS members. Social Science Education Consortium Founded in 1963, SSEC strives to promote and improve social science education at all levels through collaboration among social scientists and social studies educators.
NCSS Communities Network with other NCSS members to seek advice, share your knowledge, and connect with other members who share your concerns. Go to NCSS Communities to read about what each community is doing. They can now conduct business via e-mail all year long, in addition to meeting at the Annual Conference.
NCSS Email Discussion Lists
NCSS E-Mail Listserves provide a forum for discussion with other educators around the world. After you have subscribed to a group, you will receive all e-mail messages sent to the group. Any messages you send to the group will be automatically sent to all other group members.
